Star Allergy Alerts hopes to make the lives of parents and carers a little easier, by providing a range of products to raise allergy awareness for the safety of those we love.

Star Allergy Alerts was started by Donna Rendell, the mother of a child with life-threatening food allergies. Donna was concerned that as her daughter got older she would inevitably spend more time away from home at play-dates, sleep-overs, parties, school camps (etc), without her parents there to protect her from harm. Her idea was to create a range of products to help communicate the allergy message for both parent and child. Simple easy to use products to make everyone aware of the dangers of food and medical allergies, with fun colourful designs that attract attention wherever the child may be.

The business was purchased in 2016 by Melissa and Andrew. Star Allergy Alerts was a natural fit for them as they already owned and managed the very popular specialist allergy online pharmacy Allergypharmacy.co.nz. Allergypharmacy was started when Melissa was on maternity leave and wanted to do something to help other Mothers, especially those with facing the additional complexity of allergies. This business has revolutionised the pricing and availability of Epipens in New Zealand, making them much more accessible and additionally made a large variety of allergy alert products available.

Allergypharmacy was sold in 2019 and now Melissa and Andrew are focusing on growing the range and taking their fun, creative and practical alert products to the world. Our aim is to increase allergy awareness in a fun, child friendly and practical way. We hope that Star Allergy Alerts products will give peace of mind to parents and carers to know that allergy kids may be just that little bit safer.
